Can I quarantine for less time by using the Test to Release Scheme?

The UK Government’s Test to Release scheme for international arrivals is now available. People travelling into the UK from countries not featured on the government’s red list will have the option to take a test after 5 days of self-isolation, with a negative result releasing you from the need to isolate.

Those choosing not to take a test when arriving from countries not featured on the government’s green list must continue to follow the current self-isolation requirements. Countries rated as red, amber or green for Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the rules you must follow to enter England can be found here. If you are travelling from a country on a Green list you do not need to isolate.
