What Covid-19 testing do I need to have to travel to the Netherlands?

The Dutch authorities currently classify the UK as a ‘very high risk country’. This means that fully vaccinated UK nationals, who can provide acceptable proof of vaccination, which includes the NHS COVID Pass, will be allowed to enter the Netherlands. Find out more by visiting the gov.uk site.

Fully vaccinated travellers arriving in the Netherlands from the UK via aeroplane, ferry, passenger car, train or bus must show one of the following:

  • a negative PCR test result (taken no more than 48 hours before departure);
  • a negative antigen test result (taken no more than 24 hours before departure).

Fully vaccinated travellers are exempt from quarantine on arrival in the Netherlands.

To streamline your travel plans, we are able to provide rapid antigen coronavirus tests at the port of Hull. This service will be available every day of the week between 2pm and 6pm until 31st October 2021. Test results can take up to 30 minutes, please allow an extra 90 minutes prior to checking in and arrive no later than 6pm to guarantee results before check-in closes.

Mandatory quarantine will still apply for unvaccinated passengers travelling for essentials reasons only, from the UK. Mandatory self-quarantine of 10 days applies to travellers aged 13 and over arriving in the Netherlands from the UK. There is an option to test and release after 5 days. Children aged 12 or under are exempt from the mandatory quarantine.

Where quarantine applies, you must also carry a printed copy of the Quarantine Declaration Form available from www.government.nl. Not having this form may result in a fine.
