What Covid-19 testing do I need to have to travel to the Netherlands?

As the UK are classified as a very high-risk country by the Dutch Government, therefore travellers from the UK are currently not permitted entry in to the Netherlands, unless for essential travel.

All travellers aged 13 and over arriving from the UK must now abide by one of the following two covid-19 testing options even if fully vaccinated;

  1. Show one negative rapid test result taken no more than 24 hours before departure and no more than 48 hours before arrival in the Netherlands
  2. Show the following two test results:
  • A negative PCR test result taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in the Netherlands/a negative antigen test result taken no more than 48 hours before arrival in the Netherlands AND A negative rapid test result taken no more than 24 hours before departure.

To streamline your travel plans, we are able to provide rapid antigen coronavirus tests at the port of Hull. This service will be available every day of the week between 2pm and 6pm. Test results can take up to 30 minutes, please allow an extra 90 minutes prior to checking in and arrive no later than 6pm to guarantee results before check-in closes. 

On arrival in the Netherlands you must self-isolate for 10 days upon arrival. Mandatory self-quarantine applies to travellers aged 13 and over arriving in the Netherlands from the UK. There is an option to test and release after 5 days. This also applies to travellers who have been vaccinated. Children aged 12 or under are exempt from the mandatory quarantine.
You must also carry a printed copy of the Quarantine Declaration Form available from www.government.nl. Not having this form may result in a fine.
