Cairnryan village itself is relatively small but there some great places to explore nearby.
For keen golfers, Stranraer Golf Club is just a 15 minute drive away from Cairnryan port. With beautiful views over the neighbouring Loch Ryan and plenty of amenities on site, this fantastic golf course is well worth a visit.
If golf isn’t your thing, then fear not. Stranraer and the surrounding countryside have plenty of other things to explore. Head to Castle Kennedy Gardens to discover nearly 300 years of history. With beautiful gardens, great walks around the Lochs and a tea room to cosy up in, this is a perfect place to visit for families who love the outdoors. You can even take your dog!
If you’re looking for fun for all ages, then visit Agnew Park in Stranraer. With a wide range of leisure facilities for all ages including a miniature railway, play island, putting green and large boating lake with a range of boats, including canoes and pedalos, there’s plenty of fun to be had here! Agnew Park is set in lovely gardens with a café, so you can sit back and relax with a hot or cold drink and take in those loch views.
